The Coalition to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong organized the international Global Human Rights Torch Relay that traveled through 150 cities in 35 countries of Europe, Asia, North America and Australasia to support a boycott of the 2008 Beijing Olympics.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Wakas To Bring Human Rights Torch Into Nelson )〕 The relay started in Athens on 9 August 2007, one year before the start of the Olympic Games.
